‘Mr. Robot’ season 2, episode 4 preview: Elliot and the ever-changing game
The second season of “Mr. Robot” has been a story of existence. What does it mean to be a part of the world, a part of society, or a part of something? Is there such a thing as understanding the world? If there was ever a show that made you feel somewhat existential, we’re pretty sure that this one is it.
Through most of tonight’s episode we saw Elliot continue to try and escape his present position under the grasp of Mr. Robot; unfortunate, he was not exactly successful through most of this journey. Instead, what we ended up seeing through this hour was a perpetual impasse between him and Mr. Robot, a sign that there was never going to be an escape in the way that he wanted.
We’re not sure that Elliot will break free anytime soon, so instead of focusing primarily on that moving into the next episode, let’s present a few other teases, as deciphered from the always-complicated synopses released by USA.
1. Elliot’s latest “game” turns out to be vast, complicated, and potentially overwhelming.
2. Dominique, who we’re still getting to know, is going to be off in China on a key investigation.
3. Darlene will call up Angela, and maybe we’ll get a chance to see these two characters work together? Fingers crossed…
4. Joanna will be front and center for something — as the synopsis puts it, she will be either “haunted” or “hunted” over the course of the installment. Hopefully, we will have a few more details on what lies ahead in the coming days.
