‘Luke Cage’ spoilers: Marvel mum on Jessica Jones appearance … for now

Luke Cage -

Marvel and Netflix have the latest in their pantheon of series coming out soon in “Luke Cage,” and what makes this particular series interesting is that it has been almost entirely planted thanks to another series in “Jessica Jones.” We’ve already gotten to know him through her perspective; now, we are getting a chance to understand more of the other side of the story.

So is it possible that we could see Krysten Ritter turn up at some point in this show as the aforementioned character? Certainly, but for the time being Marvel’s staying mum on the subject. TV head Jeph Loeb declined to answer the question in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, but did go on to say the following about how this new show could inform in some ways things that happened in the last show:

“What I can tell you is that the way that you saw Luke and Jessica is very much from Jessica’s point of view … And it needed to be that way; it’s Jessica’s story. So, you don’t get to see where he goes when he’s not with her. He exists within her world. What’s so exciting for us about this is we now get 13 hours of seeing what his world is and where it goes. There are a couple of things that I think after people watch this show, they’ll go back and watch Jessica Jones and go, ‘Oh, that’s what he was talking about,’ or ‘That’s why he was behaving that particular way.’ That’s the thing that’s really so cool.”

This is a fun, interesting sort of storytelling for this show, and we are interested in finding out a little bit more news over time. Of course, we’re planning to review a new “Luke Cage” episode every day, so there will be some opportunities to discuss what is happening further at that time.
