‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’ scores premiere date, new trailer

Today marks Netflix’s appearance at the TCA Summer Press Tour, and as a result of that, they have lifted the veil on many different things. That includes the latest trailer and premiere date for “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life,” the much-anticipated adaptation of the famed Amy Sherman-Palladino series starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Biedel.

The four 90-minute episodes of this series will premiere come November 25 on Netflix, and as the name suggests, each one is going to revolve around a different time in our main characters’ lives. Yet, the trailer makes things clear that the more things change in Stars Hollow, the more they effectively stay the same. This is a place that still has a delightful sort of small-town charm to it, and also many a memorable character.

The scene in the trailer is certainly a signature of all things Gilmore, mostly because it features a Lorelai – Rory conversation that certainly feels appropriate for them: Amy Schumer followed by John Oliver. What makes this even more meta is that Schumer herself responded to the trailer in a post on Twitter (see below), proclaiming that she really does not engage in water sports nearly as much as the paparazzi may suggest that she does. Also, she makes it clear that she would get along with Lorelai just fine. Somewhere, a fictional character just jumped up and down in celebration.

Of course, if you missed it, this series is going to include those famous four words you’ve been waiting to hear. We just suggest that you stay off of social media until you finish watching the series the moment it comes out.
