‘Supergirl’ season 2 spoilers: Expect tension with Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman

Supergirl -

With the second season of “Supergirl” premiering on The CW this fall, of course we imagine that anticipation is high.

Luckily, that’s what Comic-Con panels are for! The unfortunate thing is that the show has not actually started filming the new season yet, so unlike “Arrow,” “The Flash,” or “Legends of Tomorrow,” there was not any cool stuff to show off in the form of a trailer.

Luckily, there was still some new! One of the big surprises was an appearance from Superman himself (Tyler Hoechlin of “Teen Wolf” fame) on the panel, where he said that he has not put on the costume yet bu is certainly excited to. Meanwhile, executive producer Sarah Schechter made it clear that there is going to be a significant amount of tension that comes with Kara working alongside her famous relative, who has developed his own way of doing things for many years:

“Clark [Kent] has a very different experience of what it means to have superpowers on Earth. [As a result of that there’s] some real head-butting and philosophical approaches that are different. We’ll get into all that.”

It was also revealed at the panel that the relationship between Kara Danvers and James Olsen will continue in some form, and that the mysterious character from Chris Wood will be the person inside the pod at the end of the first season. Unfortunately, this doesn’t get us any closer to getting answers, but we would hope / imagine that they would be released not too long after the premiere airs…
