‘Arrested Development’ season 5: Will Arnett on challenges of making it happen
It’s become almost a pattern: Every couple of months, we have a new story saying that people involved in “Arrested Development” would like to make more of them. However, at the same exact time nothing official is ever announced. Do we think that it will happen eventually? Sure, but there is no timetable for it and there probably won’t be for some time.
In the latest edition of “stars saying that they want to do it,” we can at least bring you a new quote via Will Arnett’s latest interview with TheWrap, where he is promoting the new season of “BoJack Horseman” on Netflix:
“I’ll just say this: It’s something that’s always out there and it’s something that we’re always constantly kinda talking about, and how can we do it and when can we do it. We go so far as to start to discuss the scheduling of it and when that would be, and for whatever reason it kind of gets slowed down. So, at this point, my answer is: ‘I don’t f—ing know.’ I know that everybody is game to do it. We all love doing it.”
The clear issues here include Arnett doing multiple shows, Tony Hale doing “Veep,” Portia de Rossi on “Scandal,” Jeffrey Tambor doing “Transparent,” and some other acting odds and ends here and there. There’s just an issue when you constantly have so many people doing other things and you have to figure out a way to make something work it.
We do know this: The moment that they actually announce a season 5, we’ll probably be happier than Gob Bluth when someone actually compliments him on his magic act.
