‘Mr. Robot’ season 2 bringing virtual reality to Comic-Con

The second season of “Mr. Robot” is in the process of airing new episodes over on USA, and later this week, people at San Diego Comic-Con could have an opportunity to check out one of the coolest extensions of the brand yet.

If you’re at Petco Park (home of the Padres) on Thursday at 10:45 a.m. Pacific time, you can have a chance to take part in a massive virtual-reality experience. there, you will have a chance to watch an original twelve-minute piece, written and directed by creator Sam Esmail, and it features Rami Malek as Elliot alongside his former love interest Shayla (who, unfortunately, is no longer with us). It’s an added bit of backstory on the show’s lead character and their relationship, and utilizing the technology should make the experience all the more interesting.

Not in San Diego? Well, there is still a way that you can check out the experience. Through the Within app, you can check it out at the same exact time on Thursday. However, Entertainment Weekly notes that if you miss out on it, you may have to wait until Monday, July 25 in order to see it. Think of this as a gift for being punctual.

As for the current journey of Elliot, you can continue to see that unfold Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. Eastern on USA. We’ll have a review of the latest episode up later tonight, where we will continue to try to make sense of this topsy-turvy world.
