‘Preacher’ episode 8 preview: Odin offers up a speech
Odin Quincannon has quickly emerged as a solid adversary for Jesse Custer on AMC’s “Preacher,” and someone who possesses not only a level of charisma on par with anyone else in the story. He’s also got an army to back him up.
In the sneak peek below for Sunday’s episode, you can see the character doing his part to try and lead the charge into Jesse’s church with the support of a rather large mob behind him. He wants to take down the Preacher once and for all, and he acts as though he’s got a large enough crew of people to be able to pull that off. Will he? We figure that this is not a situation anywhere near as cut and dry.
There is also another interesting question to ask here, and that is whether or not our Preacher is going to be able to reconcile some of his abilities with his desire for self-preservation. Clearly, he wants to emerge through every battle still breathing, but the complication here comes mostly in the form that he has at his disposal power to do so much more than survive. Just ask Eugene.
Speaking of which, we know for sure that at least one of the upcoming stories on Sunday’s episode is going to be about whether or not Jesse can bring this character back after damning him to hell. for the time being, we’re not entirely optimistic on the odds.
