The CW is certainly doing the right thing when it comes to their promotion for the “Containment” finale. They know that it is going to be the last episode of the series airing next week; therefore, they’re not even bothering to make fans think there is a chance at more. Also, they’re promoting it as a “limited series finale,” that way the impression is given that this was always planned. Do we think there would have been more had the ratings been amazing? Probably, but we’ll let them roll with that label if they want.
If you’re wanting a few details regarding how the show is going to end, the title is “Path to Paradise,” and you can see the synopsis below:
“With only one shot to take Dr. Lommers (Claudia Black) down for good, Lex (David Gyasi) carefully plans his next steps. Jana (Christina Moses), Suzy (guest star Nadine Lewington), Teresa (Hanna Mangan Lawrence) and Xander (guest star Demetrius Bridges) make their dangerous escape out of the cordon, but unexpected road blocks threaten to destroy their chance of making it home. Inside the cordon, Dr. Cannerts (George Young) and Jake (Chris Wood) make a breakthrough discovery following a risky experimental treatment. Finally, with time running out, Lex is forced to make a decision that will change his life forever.”
You obviously have to hope that the show has a satisfying conclusion at the end of this, especially since we figure that there was at least some time to plot this out. While the show is not living on, we at least give the network credit for trying to give an original property a shot in what is right now a sea of franchises.
