‘Mistresses’ season 4, episode 7 preview: When will it return to ABC?

For those of you wondering where the typical “Mistresses” episode synopsis is, it’s unfortunately not here — and there’s a fairly simple reason for that: ABC doesn’t release synopses long in advance.

Following tonight’s new episode entitled “What Happens in Vegas,” the network is (per the Futon Critic) not airing another installment until we get around to Monday, August 8. What’s the reason for that? Well, one of the biggest ones is avoiding the Republican and Democratic National Conventions over the next two weeks. ABC is preempting the show for coverage from the event, and as of right now their plans for August 1 are not entirely clear.

Given how much time is left this season, though, “Mistresses” will have to air a new episode once a week until we get around to late September in order for it to be done on time. The show’s schedule was already complicated thanks to getting preempted earlier this summer due to the NBA Finals. Our primary hope is that all of this jostling around with the schedule does not end up causing any damage when it comes to the show’s ratings. They are already not particularly good, and the last thing we want to see now is them go completely down the tubes. First things first, we just want to see it recover from the series low it posted last week.

As soon as there is more to report on the future of “Mistresses,” including some other episode details, rest assured that we’ll have that scoop for you soon.
