‘The Daily Show with Trevor Noah’ hitting the road for Democratic, Republication National Conventions

Daily Show -One of the interesting things that we’ve had a chance to really track this year is the role late-night TV has to play in the Presidential election. Networks and parent companies know that this year in particular is huge for them; whether you love him or hate him, Donald Trump is a media circus that drives ratings. Hillary Clinton has been known to grab many a headline, as well.

We knew already that “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” were going the extra mile later this month to cover both the Republican and Democratic National conventions, but “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” is still going the extra mile. Specifically, he is bringing his show on the road.

From July 19 until the 22nd, the show will air four days of special programming entitled “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah Presents The 2016 Republican National Convention: Submission Accomplished” from the Breen Center for the Performing Arts in Cleveland. Meanwhile, the following week the show will air “The 2016 Democratic National Convention: Let’s Not Get Crazy” from the “Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.” The show usually runs Monday through Thursday, but for these weeks episodes will air from Tuesday until Friday with specials looking back at each race set for the Mondays before.

For Noah’s show, this is really a chance to bring things to another level and really separate the show from what Jon Stewart did. Other than maybe the day of the election itself, this may be one of the most focused the media will be on this particular subject.
