‘Preacher’ episode 8 preview: Jesse versus Quincannon

On the past few episodes of “Preacher,” we have seen the beginnings of a rivalry between Jesse Custer and Quincannon. At times, he’s felt as though he could control him. Then again, that was prior to him understanding his powers. These two have been a yin and yang, but moving into the next episode, you are going to see all of this come to a head.

The title for the next new episode of the series is “El Valero,” and based on the short TV Guide synopsis, things will be getting violent; however, at the same time, someone else will be doing good. Ironically, it’s not the man whose job is listed in the show’s title:

“In a fierce gun battle, Jesse faces off against Quincannon and the Meat Men to protect his church. Meanwhile, Tulip tries to save a friend.”

Is it fair to say that we’re in the home stretch of the season at this point? We’d say so, and given the timing of next week’s new episode, we would not be shocked if this is only the beginning of some battles with Quincannon. After all, there are still more episodes to go this season, and over the course of that there is definitely a good bit of time for various things to take place.

If you do look at the promo below, we definitely feel like there’s an epic battle or two ahead. There’s also plenty of intrigue surrounding whether or not someone can come back after being doomed to hell. We’ll have to see what happens.
