‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: First look at Fish Mooney’s return!
For the final episodes of “Gotham” season 2, we learned that Hugo Strange managed to revive Fish Mooney. As if she wasn’t dangerous before, it’s also fair to say that her new abilities make her somewhat persuasive. She’s more like a Batman villain now than ever before, even without existing in the comics.
Oh, and she is also now officially a part of season 3. It was easy to assume she’d be a part of this given she wasn’t killed off, but the photo below from executive producer Danny Cannon is proof. Fish, and in turn Jada Pinkett Smith, are back! As for how long she will be around, that’s a good question. There are clearly folks out there with a grudge against her (understandably so), with the biggest one being Oswald. There is also no definite reason to keep her alive given she doesn’t ever run into Batman. Therefore, she is a comic character where anything goes.
What else do we know about season 3?
So far, it’s been confirmed that Ivy is being aged up with an older actress, that Morena Baccarin will have a larger role as Lee Thompkins, and that Nathaniel Barnes is back in action. The pieces are in motion for a thrilling first few episodes. Kudos to the producers for decided that rushing the ending of season 2 was a terrible idea. Instead, they’ve worked to set the stage for a fairly epic third season, one where they can bring back these characters. Also, there will be some new ones that come about with the Court of Owls.
