‘The Last Ship’ season 3 spoilers: The walls begin to close in
Trouble continuous simmers on “The Last Ship“; the cause for concern is when it comes to a boil.
Throughout the season so far, there have been two main questions: Chandler’s journey in Asia, and President Michener back home. This is going to continue in the coming weeks, as both stories face additional challenges. When it comes specifically to the Commander-in-Chief, he’s had to face the reality that not everyone stands with him. How can he convince them that, despite a short tenure, he’s a capable leader? It is not going to happen overnight.
Unfortunately, something coming up in the seventh episode of the season (airing July 24), entitled “In the Dark,” may put in a position without an easy escape. Take a look at the synopsis (per SpoilerTV) for more:
“The Nathan James must evade an overwhelming threat. A revelation in St. Louis puts President Michener in a terrible position.”
This “terrible position” could mean many things. For example, maybe someone in his cabinet faces corruption charges, maybe he makes a mistake, or maybe a ghost from his past turns up. Many problems for him could be similar to everyday political problems; the primary difference comes in the circumstances of the surrounding world.
The next new “Last Ship” episode airs Sunday, and perhaps its role will be as a bridge to where we are now and where we’re going. We can hope so; also, we just enjoy using the word “bridge” for any show that involves a warship or a central headquarters.
