‘America’s Got Talent’ video: Prepare for Judge Cuts — twice a week!

AGT -Are you ready for the next round of “America’s Got Talent“? We hope so, since the show is clearly looking to give you a fairly solid two weeks of drama during the Judge Cuts portion of the program.

One thing that we can immediately tell you is different is that for the first time this season, the show is expanding to two nights in Tuesday and Wednesday, where there will be two hours each night! This is a rather overwhelming amount of show, but we figure that one of the reasons for it could just be as simple as the show being well aware of the Olympics on the horizon. Given that it is going to be off the air for a certain amount of time this season, they may have to accelerate some portions of the competition in order to get where it needs to go for the live shows.

If you didn’t watch the Judge Cuts last year, the structure of it is that the four judges are joined by a fifth one (Ne-Yo, Reba McEntire, George Lopez, and Louis Tomlinson), and they will help to judge the advancing acts other than the ones who get a golden buzzer. These fifth judges are also going to get a golden buzzer for the act that they want to sent through to the next round.

We just gotta go ahead and say it — this is probably our favorite midway point in any reality competition out there. There’s just something about the golden buzzer as a twist that gets us absurdly excited.
