‘The Last Ship’ season 3, episode 5 preview: Chandler and company navigate the ‘Minefield’

The third season of “The Last Ship” is in the process of airing new episodes on TNT, and as we get further and further along into this season, the pressure is probably going to mount for Chandler. He’s not in an easy position to be in to begin with, and in true “Last Ship” fashion, you have to anticipate that it is going to be getting so much worse before it gets better.

Even the title for next week’s new episode in “Minefield” offers up a pretty significant reason to be worried about some of these characters (especially Chandler), since you are talking about new dangers. What the synopsis below adds to this is that we’re also going to see another story in which President Michener finds himself in a difficult spot as more and more people question whether or not he has handled the kidnapping correctly.

“Chandler’s mission becomes complicated as his position is worsened. President Michener faces pressure from the regional leaders.”

We definitely have a great jumping-off point going into this upcoming episode, mostly because we’re coming off of an hour that ended with mines in the water threatening the lives of everyone on the Nathan James. Takehaya is a smart guy, and he’s going to do everything that he can to hold on to his hostages and complete what is his personal mission.
