‘Supergirl’ season 2: Excitement abounds from other CW stars over move
For the most part, it has been a fairly quiet past month or so for “Supergirl” following the news that the show is moving to The CW. While we’ve heard that Tyler Hoechlin is going to be Superman, not too much has otherwise been said about who some of the guest stars, including the Big Bad, will be.
However, we do at least know that there are at least some people very much excited to see the show over on the network in terms of people on some of the other DC Comics shows. While there was not much of a “Supergirl” presence at the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in New Jersey this weekend, the show was a topic of discussion.
At one point during a panel on Saturday, Danielle Panabaker from “The Flash” said that she would “love” to be on the show and to work with its star in Melissa Benoist. Crossovers between these two shows (there’s already been one) are probably the most organic, mostly because they have a similar tone and spirit about them. It’s a little bit trickier to find natural ways to make this happen with some of the other shows, especially one reasonably grounded as “Arrow” is.
Meanwhile, on Sunday Stephen Amell commented on the show’s move, saying that it was “weird” in the first place that it was on CBS. This is a sentiment that CW programming head Mark Pedowitz also shared recently; we do think it is best suited on this network, where there are fewer ratings expectations and more opportunities for creative freedom.

I think Jimmy Olson and Iris should start dating. Minds would be blown! :)

It also “weird” that Constantine was on NBC!!
Major screw up!! It belonged on a network that
Had the sense to appreciate it, and would still
Be on!!!

It’s really refreshing to see the stars from the other DC shows now openly talk about Supergirl. Before when the show was at CBS, because of the network divide, the same stars perhaps had some restrictions about discussing Supergirl in public (and vice versa for the stars of Supergirl). One good example was during the 2015 San Diego Comic Con when Arrow/Flash/Legends when their stars had a good time talking about each other while Supegirl felt isolated. It’s great to say with the move to the CW, “welcome to your real home Supergirl!”

It’s a good point — I think before they were mostly afraid about potentially getting people’s hopes up about crossovers that may not ever happen.
