‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: A brief take on Luke Pell – JoJo Fletcher date

We’ve already made it very clear just how we feel about Luke Pell as a contestant on “The Bachelorette” this season. Namely, we’re really just looking at this for him as a stepping stone as he continues along his way to becoming the Bachelor. He’s one of the season’s most-popular guys, but we don’t get the sense that he is the frontrunner for JoJo Fletcher’s heart in the way that someone like Jordan Rodgers is.

Nonetheless, Luke is going to have some more one-on-one time with JoJo on the Monday, July 11 episode, and ABC released a short teaser recently of what the two will be up to while in Argentina:

“The final one-on-one date goes to Luke, who impresses JoJo with his skeet shooting prowess and his calm and tender demeanor while horseback riding.”

Here’s what we don’t get: How is someone impressed any more with “skeet shooting prowess”? Also, how can someone like Luke be bad at it, given that this is a guy who spent years in the military? If he was terrible, it probably wouldn’t say good things about our training as a country.

We do feel confident that Luke will get a hometown date, mostly because we’d put him about #3 right now in our personal power rankings behind only Jordan and Robby Hayes. We think that he’s got things together more so than Chase McNary (at least a decent contender), while James Taylor is falling off and we’re not quite sure that it has ever really been there with Alex Woytkiw in the first place. In some ways, him being there is largely just a function
