‘Supergirl’ season 2: Brandon Routh would love to appear, meet new Superman Tyler Hoechlin
The first time that many of us heard the name Brandon Routh was when he was cast to play the title character in “Superman Returns,” which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. Now, he is a part of a different superhero show in “Legends of Tomorrow” on The CW, one that just so happens to be in the same universe as “Supergirl.” In turn, that show recently cast “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Hoechlin to play their version of Superman.
So doesn’t it only seem appropriate that Routh appears here, given that they have already cast former Clark Kent actor Dean Cain on the show, much in the way that “The Flash” has John Wesley Shipp aboard their own show? It certainly only feels appropriate, and based on what Routh had to say on the subject during a Reddit AMA, it definitely feels as though he’d like to come aboard. Specifically, he responded to a question on Hoechlin’s casting with the following:
“I wish him the best and hope to meet him if Ray gets to crossover to Supergirl! :)”
Routh also said that he hopes to have a chance to play more of the Ray on “Legends of Tomorrow” season 2 that was similar to the version that we saw of him on “Arrow” season 3, which we’d certainly sign off on giving that he was really fun and energetic over there. We know that there will be some sort of crossover involving many of these shows coming up on the upcoming season, but nothing at present is 100% confirmed.
