‘The X Factor’ UK: Louis Walsh hoping to find big talent in home country

X Factor -

The new season of “The X Factor” UK is in the process now of filming new episodes, and specifically one of the auditions this year is going to be in Louis Walsh’s home country of Ireland. The show has been there before, but it’s been a little while.

So what does Louis expect to see? Well, talent mostly! However, his criteria is not necessarily what you would think based on his interview with RTE:

“The background team has already been here, so we’ll see whoever they picked.  They pick whoever they like and we’ll see them, in Croke Park. Then we audition, we interrogate them, we find out the ones with personalities. We’re not just looking for great singers,” he adds. “We want personalities, and people with ambition and work ethic and all of that.”

We really should note here that out of all of the judges, Louis is probably the one who is the most focused on entertainment to go along with a great singing voice — and in this day and age, we’d agree. There have been a ton of great singers who have won this show over the years, but at the same time, there have only been a select few who has had great careers. Some of the people who aren’t the best singers are still known in one way or another for at least being camp entertainment.

Louis is returning to this panel after a year off, and he is joined this year by Sharon Osbourne, Simon Cowell, and Nicole Scherzinger.
