‘Major Crimes’ season 5, episode 4 preview: Buzz’s past and more in ‘Skin Deep’
The first news we should give you when it comes to the next new episode of “Major Crimes” is that, unfortunately, you’re going to be waiting for a little while in order to see it. While it would be nice to have an installment on July 4, the reality is that it would hurt the ratings, and given that we want this show to come back for another season down the road, we’ve got no problem at all with TNT being a little bit protective of it.
When the show does return on Monday, July 11, it will be doing so with an episode entitled “Skin Deep” that is going to focus on some storylines that will in part last for a larger portion of the season. For example, Flynn is looking into getting a new place as he considers his future, and Buzz is going to be continuing an investigation to figure out what may have happened to his father. Take a look, per TNT, at the synopsis below:
“When Flynn looks into purchasing a new home and seeks input from Provenza and Buzz, an unexpected turn of events leads to a new investigation for Major Crimes. Meanwhile, Buzz continues to look into the circumstances surrounding his father’s murder.”
We like that the show is taking its time on some of the character-focused stuff this season, especially since it feels almost like they are taking some elements now from a more serialized show while offering up the procedural elements that crime fans know and love. It’s really a best-of-both-worlds scenario, and something they will hopefully utilize most of the season.
