‘Preacher’ episode 6 preview: First look at story for Dominic Cooper, cast in ‘Sundowner’

We’ve now made it to the official halfway point of “Preacher” season 1, which means that from here on out, we do anticipate seeing the story spike and escalate when it comes to drama. Doesn’t that sound exciting to anyone else? It certainly is to us, if for no other reason than that some of the early episodes, while incredibly entertaining, were also slowly-paced and we feel like the show could benefit from moving things along.

Based on the synopsis below for next week’s “Sundowner,” there are a few interesting things that could be coming up. Take a look via TV Guide:

“Jesse finally comes face to face with Deblanc and Fiore and learns about the mysterious entity that has taken over his body.”

To us, probably the biggest surprise at the moment is one that exists outside the show. We’re shocked that AMC is even airing a new episode next week! After all, it is the day before July 4, and there are going to be a wide array of people out there who may not even be around to watch the show, given that they are running around and doing other things. Who knows, though? Maybe the viewership will not; if nothing else, there are a lot of people who will end up watching via their DVR or online.

We’ll have a promo for the episode soon, and we certainly expect that there is going to be some fireworks that come from the the Jesse – Deblanc meeting that takes place here.
