‘Turn: Washington’s Spies’ season 3 finale spoilers: Is there death on all sides?

There are some shows on TV that make for compelling viewing, but unfortunately, they don’t quite get the sort of buzz or attention that they deserve. “Turn: Washington’s Spies” is one of those said shows. In some ways, it is almost like AMC has two different brackets of shows. They have the ones like “The Walking Dead” or “Preacher” that are easy to publicize because of the story content and the people involved in them; then, they have historical dramas much like this one and “Hell on Wheels,” which are a little more under-the-radar.

Anyhow, “Turn” is coming to a close on Monday night with an episode that looks to be very much the culmination of everything that has aired so far this season, and of course on paper it looks like we’re going to lose some people. As for whether or not this proves to really be the case, it’s debatable. Just remember for a minute or two here that this is a show where there is a tendency for big swings and last-minute changes.

The synopsis below, via TV Guide, serves as a nice compliment to the promo:

“In the third-season finale, there is an inevitable march to the gallows for the captured spies on both sides. Meanwhile, Benedict Arnold demands revenge.”

One thing that adds to the stakes of the finale on a little more of a meta level is the uncertainty that comes along with it. Just remember for a moment here that the show has not been renewed yet for a season 4, and given that the ratings are fairly low in comparison to some other programs on the network, it is certainly possible that this could be the final episode.
