‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 7, episode 2 video: Ezra, Liam at odds over book material

 

Projecting. If there is one word you can describe the sneak peek below from Tuesday night’s new “Pretty Little Liars” episode, that is probably it. While Aria may not appear in it, her presence is very much felt as Liam and Ezra fight over the book, which is really in turn akin to the two of them fighting over her.

Liam is projecting here his own idea over a relationship between an older man and a younger woman into Ezra and Aria, and given his circumstances, we certainly understand him pushing Ezra and also saying he is fully invested in making sure Aria gets what she wants … which is really just what he wants. If you take away the affection that we have for Aria and Ezra as a couple, everything Liam is doing here is understandable. Put yourself in his shoes; wouldn’t you be extremely wary of Ezra? The problem is that within the context of the show we don’t root for him, and that’s why it is easy to view him more as a prick.

Anyhow, this preview makes it very clear that the idea of these two guys plus Aria working on the same book is probably not going to end particularly well; as a matter of fact, we’d be willing to wager that it could be a full-on disaster by the end of it provided things keep up. Something has to give, and it may include someone opting to either take a back seat or leaving altogether.
