‘The Last Ship’ season 3 spoilers: A further crisis for President Michener in ‘Minefield’
Are you still recovering from the third-season premiere of “The Last Ship” this past weekend? We certainly understand if you are, given that these two hours contained quite a few big develops, whether it be Chandler’s new mission, the capture of Slattery, and also the surprising decision to kill of Rachel, a move we still feel to be incredibly gutsy. While there is a part part of us that doesn’t like it at all, at the same exact time we give the show all the credit in the world for the bravery to do it rather than pulling the signature finale stunt of pretending to kill someone, only to have them come back either alive or resurrected.
For the sake of this article, we’re looking further ahead to “Minefield,” the upcoming July 10 episode (the fifth this season) that makes it clear that things are not getting better for the crew of the Nathan James anytime soon. Just take a look at the short synopsis, per SpoilerTV, below:
“Chandler’s mission becomes complicated as his position is worsened. President Michener faces pressure from the regional leaders.”
Do we still have some questions regarding whether or not we can really trust this President? Absolutely, but maybe that has more to do with the nature of this world than anything that he has done in particular. The only thing we’re absolutely sure of right now is that this season is going to test him dearly, given that he is still relatively new to this position of leadership, and the country, if not the world, is looking for someone they can cling to as a symbol of hope.
