Is “The Flash” ready to add another speedster or two to the mix? It’s a question that we have seemingly wondered ever since near the end of season 2, when both Wally West and Jesse Wells found themselves hit with the attempt by Harry to get Barry Allen his powers back. This emulation of the particle accelerator incident could in theory have far-reaching consequences, and it simply remains to be seen precisely that those are.
For now, all we can say is that Violett Beane will be returning for season 3 as Harry’s daughter; she doesn’t quite know just yet whether or not the Jesse Quick persona will be born. Speaking to TVLine from the recent Saturn Awards, the actress had the following to say:
“When Jesse got hit, I was like ‘It’s happening! It’s happening!’ There was the spark when she got out of the coma, but… it didn’t happen, and I was like, ‘No!’ I’m very excited [to play a speedster], and would love for it to happen early next season.”
For now, though, we imagine that the #1 priority for Barry and company is still going to be Flashpoint, given for one that this is the title for the upcoming premiere. It’s not entirely clear how long that story will last, but we figure that this will play a rather-hefty role in determining precisely how the rest of the story moves forward. Our feeling is that it at least needs some time in order to have the hype be worthwhile.
