‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 12 video: Jamie, Claire prepare for Culloden

In just over 24 hours from now, this weekend’s new episode of “Outlander” will be here … and it could be a painful one, judging from the new sneak peek we have via Starz.

In this preview below, you can see battle preparations lead to an unwelcome turn when Claire and Jamie realize precisely how close they are to the Battle of Culloden … otherwise known as the turning point in the Jacobite Rebellion that will ruin all of their plans. That does not leave a whole lot of time to come up with an alternative, which may be why in part Claire is filled with so much dread at the end of this. She is scrambling to figure out what to do, and if there is going to be enough time to really do anything.

While this preview may not necessarily give an extreme amount away, at least other than Jamie trying to get Murtagh to summon the Prince. It is through this request that the conversation about the specific date of the battle begins.

Perhaps the saddest part of this preview, other than knowing what history dictates to be the outcome of this battle, is the fact that this is the penultimate episode of season 2. The finale will not air until after the July 4 holiday, either, so you will have to take this story and then wait around for some time to see precisely what takes place from here.
