‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6 spoilers: Be prepared to meet Sinbad
For the upcoming sixth season of “Once Upon a Time,” we’re going to have a chance to meet a rather famed adventurer (and not the comedian) in Sinbad.
Per TVLine, the show is looking for someone of Middle Eastern / Northern African descent to play the famed character, who could be one of the many characters who were transported to Storybrooke from their Land of Untold Stories by Mr. Hyde. We haven’t seen much of Sinbad in modern-day lore for some time, so we’re thrilled to have him.
To go along with this, the show is also casting a woman of Middle Eastern descent to play Scheherazade, a lesser-known character who will probably teach viewers at least a thing or two when it comes to pronunciation. While we imagine that neither one of these characters is going to do much in the way of bringing the show in some new viewers, we do think that they will be very useful in putting the story first. This is admittedly something that producers have struggled with for some time in between some various Disney gimmicks, so hopefully this will make a good opportunity for them to figure this out. We also do like that we’re abandoning the split-season format where there are effectively two different stories in one season (though it is still possible there is a long hiatus midway through).
New episodes of “Once Upon a Time” will presumably start airing on ABC in late September / early October, though no specific premiere date has been released just yet. Stay tuned, as we’re going to have further news the moment that it becomes available.
