‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 11 ratings up in viewers, down in the demo

Outlander -It feels like it’s been a couple of weeks now since we’ve posted an “Outlander” ratings update, and the longer we’ve gone on this season, in some ways the more complicated it has become to sort some of these out given that some episodes have been released early on the Starz app, some have had heavy competition, and overall it’s been a rather difficult picture to piece together.

Therefore, it’s hard to really know entirely what to make of the numbers for this past weekend’s episode “Vengeance is Mine” other than saying that they are both good news and bad news. The clear positive here, at least to us, is that the show improved its total viewer count up to around 860,000 viewers, per TV Series Finale. That is an increase from the previous season low in that measure.

The bad news here is that in the 18-49 demographic, the episode slipped down to a rather-depressing 0.1 rating. While Starz doesn’t really care about the demo (they rely on subscriptions more so than anything else), we still want to see the show get some good ratings here.

In the end, though, don’t be too down on these since the show gets the majority of its viewers through other measures beyond live+same day viewing. Also, it’s been renewed for two more seasons, so clearly it is not going anywhere in the near future. We just hope that there will be a bump up in live viewership coming up, especially for the finale given that we’re getting the chance to see Roger and Bree for the first time.
