‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8, ‘The Originals’ season 4 book first roles with ‘Containment’ stars
We may not be seeing “The Vampire Diaries” with season 8 until the fall (and it will be even longer until “The Originals” returns with season 4), but that is not stopping us from sharing the latest when it comes to casting news!
Take a look below at some of the latest additions, which are coming to us first via a Deadline report.
Kristen Gutoskie – Following her turn on another Julie Plec show in “Containment” (otherwise known as that one show The CW really didn’t give much of a chance to), the actress is going to play the part of nanny Seline on “The Vampire Diaries” moving forward. She cares very much for the two kids she looks after, but at the same time she has a very different life at night. Will she be able to reconcile this, and what does it mean? Given the somewhat-vague casting description, this is really a case where it is far too early to tell.
Christina Moses – Clearly, Plec is staying true to the “Contianment” well here in hiring Moses to be Keelin, an ER doctor who just so happens to be a werewolf. She is a bisexual character, someone who was at one point liberated; however, she now feels very closed-off after seeing so much of her family hunted down to the point that she is the last surviving member. She’s worried about being found, and given that this is a show with some rather-bad people running amok, her fears are certainly understandable.
These castings are an interesting reversal in terms of the “Containment” connection. One of the leads of that show in Chris Wood was on “The Vampire Diaries” beforehand.
