‘The Night Shift’ season 3, episode 5 review: Are Scott and Annie headed towards romance?
While most episodes of “The Night Shift” are fairly intense, last week’s episode focusing on the “Black Lives Matter” movement was the most intense episode of the season so far. Tonight though we have a two hour event that’s going to focus heavily on TC and Jordan – will TC fight for Jordan or will her new romance with Sam turn into something deeper?
Scott is trying to get the hospital involved in a heart valve study, but when the rep shows up (named Jessica) to talk to them about the study, she’s way more interested in talking about switching their whole hospital over to their drug company. When she offers Topher a vacation as part of the drug package he starts to listen a little more closely and Scott tells her how to get the other doctors on board, because if she can get them all on board, then Scott can get that new heart valve.
When TC learns that one of the drugs Jessica is pushing with her company may have caused one of his patients to try to kill herself it’s clear that Jessica is going to have an uphill battle with him. Topher is able to convince TC that this company is the best to go with because of the heart valves (and all drug companies are going to have their downfalls). Once TC finds out that his patient didn’t try to commit suicide because of the drugs (she didn’t even take them) he realizes maybe he was too hasty with his judgement. He apologizes to Jessica for his attitude and she tells him that they got the heart valve study. She also gives him her number and we may have a new romance for TC.
It was nice to see a few moments tonight between Scott and Annie when she stopped by the hospital. We love that there is someone that Scott knows at the AA meetings and we love that it’s Annie… we want to see these two happen and they did! We had a first kiss and it had all the chemistry and passion that we hoped it would have. Also who is Kenny talking all smooth to on the phone, because we know that he and Gwen have broken up. Who are you mystery woman!? Episode grade: B+
