‘Big Brother 18’ spoilers: Show producer hints at new twists

The new season of “Big Brother” will be premiering on CBS a little bit later this year, and we of course know that everyone out there is clamoring for more information about the twists. Why wouldn’t you? They help to define the season, and they give you a lot to look forward to when it comes to craziness.

While the producers (as per usual) are staying very coy on what some of the twists this season will be, Allison Grodner did tell Entertainment Weekly Radio something that suggests that we’ll see certain elements of the new house factor into a game twist this season:

“We have the craziest summer vacation ever, and the house has that theme. The rooms are different cities and destinations. There are phone booths and phones — of course not to call out, but to call each other. At some point it could be revealed that these will play into another twist. And we will learn on night one that the house theme plays a big role in a game twist that the houseguests will be faced with. All of this is intertwined, and more so than we have in the past.”

Personally, we really enjoy the twists where the house itself becomes a part of the game, whether it be the hidden Veto on “Big Brother Canada” or when Pandora’s Box becomes factored in somehow. Last season proved that the show doesn’t need twists, but we like the occasional small one provided that it doesn’t make any one player over-powered and it doesn’t tamper with outside influence on the game.
