‘American Crime’ season 3 spoilers: Regina King officially returning

Regina King has been a revelation for her work on “American Crime” over the past two years, and with that in mind, it’s nice to officially know that she is coming back for another run of episodes.

According to Deadline, season 3 is going to be filming in Los Angeles thanks to a California tax credit, and we’re glad to see that King is going to be a part of it. In a statement, creator John Murphy had the following to say about not only the return of Regina, but some of the story that we can anticipate seeing coming up:

“We could not be more excited to welcome Regina back for a third season of American Crime … She is among the talent who have quickly become intimately associated with the program. As with the first two seasons, her many fans can expect a total transformation as she plays one of the complicated individuals caught up in a story that deals with labor issues, economic divides and individual rights in this season’s setting of North Carolina.”

As for how the show will make LA look like North Carolina, that remains to be seen … but there are wizards behind the scenes on many of these shows.

The aforementioned site also reported that there are talks involving some of the other stars of the first season, including Felicity Huffman and Timothy Hutton. We expect they will also be locked in to deals soon, especially given that this is the sort of show almost everyone likely wants to be a part of in some way.
