‘Arrow,’ ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ ‘Jane the Virgin,’ and other CW shows keep Netflix deal going
In this age of streaming fragmentation, it’s become rather difficult in some ways to really even know where some of your favorite shows are going to be offered up online in the days after they air. It’s with that in mind that it’s been somewhat of a relief to just know with many shows on The CW that they will be ending up on Netflix. Whether it be “The Vampire Diaries,” “Arrow,” “The Flash,” or others, you’ve got a chance to look up past seasons of the show through the service.
Luckily, we now know that this is lasting for a little while longer. According to a new report that is coming in right now via Deadline, The CW has extended its deal with Netflix that will provide the streaming provider access to past seasons of the show. Not only that, but moving forward there’s a good chance you may be able to see some of these past seasons even faster. That’s great news for those of you out there who are interested in seeing “Jane the Virgin” or some other program a little earlier than a tiny period of time before the next season premieres.
As for specific dates, we don’t have that right now — but consider this a win for the studios within The CW (Warner Bros. TV and CBS TV) as well as viewers, who have a better chance now at catching up and then potentially watching the next season live.
Based on the recently-released schedule for The CW, the majority of their programming is going to be starting up once again in October.
