‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 12 preview: What’s next for Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan in ‘The Hail Mary’

Outlander -Tonight, “Outlander” season 2 gave us an episode that really put an emphasis on betrayal in a way that we have not seen in quite some time. After all, this hour brought us one of the most shocking moves of the season, as we saw the death of the Duke of Sandringham at the hands of Murtagh, after Claire realized that he was the one responsible for the rape on her and Mary in the streets of France. This move clearly does change the course of things moving into next week’s penultimate episode entitled “The Hail Mary,” which is going to set up the events of the Battle of Culloden. There is a reason for our characters to fear this, and the main question is whether or not they are going to be able to change history.

Want to get some other news as to what to expect? Then we suggest just taking a look at the official synopsis below:

“As Jamie puts all of his efforts into turning the Jacobite army away from the impending slaughter at Culloden Moor, Claire attempts to comfort the sick Alex Randall.  She is stunned when Alex reveals an outrageous plan to save the mother of his child.”

By the end of this episode, we imagine that the stage will be set … and we’ll probably also get another wonderful performance for Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe along the way. After all, these two are on our personal Emmy ballot for a reason.
