‘The View’ officially loses Michelle Collins as panelist
The rumors are now officially true: Michelle Collins is departing “The View,” and will not be a part of the new season. We personally remain rather sad about this news, if for no other reason than that we found her consistently funny, and really a nice change of perspective. Sure, there was a time or two when she brought a little bit of controversy, but this is a show that occasionally needs something.
This news was officially confirmed courtesy of an email from executive producer Candi Carter, which was obtained by Entertainment Weekly. Here’s just a small part of it:
“I have some bittersweet news to share – Michelle Collins is leaving the show. A gracious presence on stage and off, she asked smart questions, made us laugh and will always be part of The View family.
“We wish her great success with some exciting new projects ahead.”
There are some changes yet again that this show needs to make now moving forward, and we’re not sure there is much at the moment that is going to change the events that have been put into motion. After all, just remember for a minute here that this is a show that has done almost a revolving door when it comes to some of its panelists ever since Barbara Walters left, and with the ratings being what they are, there is probably pressure on an executive level to try to find something that can work. We don’t have a lot of confidence they will figure it out.
