‘Longmire’ season 5: Some assorted odds and ends
It feels like it’s been a little while now since we’ve been able to give an update on anything pertaining to “Longmire” on Netflix, so why not take a moment here trying to fix that?
Let’s start here with a simple bit of episode-title news: According to Katee Sackhoff on Twitter, “Continual Soiree” is the title for the upcoming ninth episode of season 5, and it has been written by none other than the prolific Tony Tost, one of the best sources for news and information about the show among the staff. We’re certainly getting closer to the end of the season, but unfortunately, we still don’t have a premiere date.
The reason that we bring up the subject of the premiere here is because Netflix just announced a September premiere date for season 2 of “Narcos,” and when you consider that “Longmire” also premiered in September last year, maybe that is a sign that there will be a date announced here at some point soon.
Finally, let’s talk for a second about how this, still, is not meant to be the final season of the show. Lou Diamond Phillips made this clear on his own Twitter, and it’s something that we are going to continue to beat the drum about after some bad information was spread unfortunately several months ago. We don’t have any reason to think this is the last year, given that this show has an amazing fan base, and it’s also relatively convenient to film. Productions lasts a few months, and then it gives the cast a chance to also pursue other things.
