2016 Tonys: Where to live stream / watch red carpet pre-show

Tony Awards -

For everyone out there who loves Broadway, you’re going to get quite the celebration courtesy of tonight’s 2016 Tony Awards. We know that following the horrific attack in Orlando overnight the tone may be different, but this show is the epitome of “the show must go on.” This is a way to help distract the nation from such sadness, and also to tribute those who have worked hard in celebration of their craft.

As of this writing, we know that the red-carpet pre-show is still continuing as it was planned, and there are a few ways in which you can prepare to watch that today.

1. By heading over to TonyAwards.com starting at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time.

2. If you are a CBS All Access customer, you can also see it through your app.

3. Many select websites, including Playbill, People Magazine, and Entertainment Weekly.

Note that the only official authorized stream of the awards show itself will be through CBS All Access; for everyone else, tune into CBS proper at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time in order to check out the start of the show. James Corden is set to be the host for the night, and we anticipate “Hamilton” in particular being a big winner given its widespread success and media attention over the course of the past several months. With many of its original cast members potentially departing over the course of the next several months, there may be no better time to celebrate what is widely considered to be the hottest seat in town.

We will be back tonight with some more from the awards, whether it be highlights or also a list of some of the winners.
