‘The Last Ship’ season 3 trailer: Danger for Slattery and much more

We are now just over 24 hours from the season 3 premiere of “The Last Ship,” and we have a pretty clear impression of what is coming based on the new trailer released by TNT: Danger, and quite a bit of it.

Specifically, in this trailer we have Slattery declaring himself a prisoner of war in the middle of what seems to be one of Chandler’s most challenging missions yet. With Michener now at the helm, he is helping to oversee the spread of the cure, but there’s a problem occurring in East Asia: The cure is being hoarded, and not everyone who needs it is actually getting it. Not only that, but there are certain people in power who refused to think with a worldview in mind.

Is Chandler going to have to take matters into his own hands? You gotta think that the answer to this is more than likely yes, just because this is the sort of guy he is! Time and time again, we’ve seen him go the extra mile, and potentially risk his own life, for the good of others.

If season 3 turns out to be anything close to what this trailer is, there’s going to be quite a bit to like for longtime fans of this series. There will be quite a bit of action, an avalanche of drama, and some interesting character moments in here to boot. There is really nothing else like the series on TV, and even if you can’t watch live (we know it’s a difficult timeslot Sundays at 9:00 p.m. Eastern), we hope you at the very least set your DVR.

Update: The season 3 premiere has been delayed following this weekend’s attack in Orlando.
