‘The Night Shift’ season 3 spoilers: First look at two-hour event!
“The Night Shift” apparently is going to have its hands full in a rather big way a little bit later this season, as we’re going to have a chance to see two separate episodes play out in a big way on the very same night: Wednesday, June 29. Why do this? We imagine that some of it has to do with a need on NBC’s part in order to get some new episodes out there before we roll around to the Summer Olympics, when much of the network’s programming will have to go dark. This period is going to make the schedule certainly a little bit wonky, but we’ll figure it out when we get there in August.
For now, just take a look at some of the stories that “The Night Shift” is going to be bringing to you, since it’s clear that there is quite a lot taking place.
3×05, “Get Busy Livin'” (9:00) – “A college co-ed falls from a balcony and once she is in the ER, TC (Eoin Macken) and Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.) find that her situation is even more complex. Jordan (Jill Flint) bonds with a terminal patient who teaches her some important lessons about living. TC’s errant sister-in-law Annie (guest star Sarah Jane Morris) returns and hopes to make amends. Meanwhile, AnnaLynne McCord guest stars as Jessica – a pharmaceutical rep with cutting-edge equipment that Scott (Scott Wolf) is so close to getting for the hospital – if her tension with TC doesn’t kill the deal.”
3×06, “Hot in the City” (10:00) – “Shannon (Tanaya Beatty) and Jordan (Jill Flint) venture out for some fun at a local wrestling event only to find themselves treating people on site when a fight breaks out amongst the audience. Back at the hospital, Sam (guest star Michael Cassidy) attends to a marathon runner who has collapsed from the heat and things start to heat up even more when the air conditioning breaks. Meanwhile, tensions between TC (Eoin Macken), Jordan, Sam, and Annie (guest star Sarah Jane Morris, “Grey’s Anatomy”) start to boil.”
By the time we get to the end of these episodes, who knows? It’s certainly possible that the end of the season could start to take some shape a little bit more than it has already.
