‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 2 spoilers: Show exec on changes for Alicia

Alicia -

The second season of “Fear the Walking Dead” is going to be airing on AMC once more in August, and when the show picks back up, expect quite a few characters to be showing signs of the wear and tear of this world. At the top of the list here is Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), who started things off a little bit more naive and trusting of some of the other living around. Of course, we don’t blame her, since we think that more often than not, this is the right way to view the world if you’re in a place without corruption. Unfortunately, the zombie apocalypse made it so that these sort of places don’t really exist anymore.

In speaking about this character further to TVLine, showrunner Dave Erickson made it clear that you’re going to see Alicia really have more of a commanding presence moving forward:

“We’ll see a woman who really comes of age and hopefully regains her connection with her mother and steps into more of an adult role.”

Ultimately, we know that Alicia is going to need to be more assertive, given that it is not exactly like there is stability all around her at present. There are also fewer people for Madison to rely on, given that so many characters are now separated from one another, and there are some in particular (think Chris) who have started to really go off the rails.

So long as “Fear the Walking Dead” figures out a way to emulate the final episodes of season 2A moving forward (given that those were the best ones that we have seen to date), we figure that we’re going to be more than happy in the end.
