‘Gilmore Girls’ revival: Melissa McCarthy on returning, hype for Netflix series
Even though Melissa McCarthy’s appearance on the upcoming “Gilmore Girls” revival on Netflix (actually titled “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life”) is probably going to be a short one, every indication that we’re getting at the moment suggests that it will definitely be worth the long wait to see her … let alone the rest of the series. It seems like just from a nostalgia standpoint alone, the actress was really thrilled to be a part of the show’s big return.
Speaking recently (per Hollywood Reporter) regarding the show (which will be four parts), McCarthy offered up the slightest of teases about the story:
“People will be really happy with the scripts. I’m back doing chefery and that’s probably all I’m supposed to say. I don’t want to give anything away … Now was the perfect time to do it. I realized that it had been long enough, and when I went back, I was like, ‘Awww.’ I really, really missed everybody and really missed those characters.”
Hopefully, Netflix won’t wait too much longer before they release some further information, even though we understand there’s no real hurry since we’re not going to see this air for the immediate future. Most of the schedule for the summer on Netflix has already been set, and they have not finalized schedules for the fall or the winter just yet.
Ultimately, all we can say is that we are going to be back to cover these shows over the course of the weeks and months ahead, and we hope that you join us on the ride!
