‘The Bachelorette’ review: Chad Johnson vs. Alex Woytkiw; JoJo Fletcher dates Luke Pell

Chad -Tonight’s new episode of “The Bachelorette” continued the Chad Johnson show, and did that by spending a good majority of the two hours hyping up one thing more than anything else: A two-on-one date between Chad and Alex Woytkiw.

Here is what we don’t really get about some of these dates: If you get assigned one, especially on week 4, it should be pretty darn clear that the Bachelorette really is not that into you. For Chad, it really should be even clearer since Chris Harrison already read him the riot act in private. The guy made at times for good television, but we were out on his the moment he started threatening people violently. Therefore, we were expecting a glorious moment a la Olivia’s elimination late in the episode.

Did that happen? More on that soon…

Luke’s date – Of course, Luke Pell got a rose! We told her a little bit about her past, and the rest of the date was pretty much fluff other than making us wonder why in the world we need dogs to do this sort of work in Pennsylvania.

Group Date – We’re going to Heinz Field! Also, there’s a football game where one team gets alone time with JoJo! For some reason Jordan Rodgers was bragging about his skills when he was playing against a bunch of nobodies. Jordan still somehow got the group-date rose, and that has to make the other guys fuming … especially Robby, since he spent half of his free time kissing her and this felt like a sure thing.

Two-on-One Date – the thing is with Chad is that we do think that somewhere in them, there probably is a guy with a heart. We just don’t think that he wanted to be that on this show. He wanted to play a villain, be confrontation, and he’s using the show to create a persona. Farewell, Chad. We can’t say we’ll miss you, though we’re sure you will end up on “Bachelor in Paradise” at some point later this summer. (Granted, he’s not entirely gone yet, but we think the teaser at the end of tonight is mostly over-hype for the sake of over-hype.)
