‘MasterChef’ season 7, episode 2 exclusive sneak peek: Will one home cook plate in time?

The second episode of “MasterChef” season 7 is coming your way on Fox Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, and with that, we’re going to have the continuation of the audition format you saw last week. The home cooks are getting grouped up, and then forced to do culinary battle for a white apron, which gives them a chance to move forward in the competition.

In the exclusive sneak peek below, you can see two cooks in Shaun and James face off in what is a cook-off that is coming down to the wire … especially for Shaun. While his food certainly looks appetizing, the issue is whether or not he can get it done and plated in time. Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi will only taste what makes it onto the plate, so if he doesn’t have anything to present, you better think that he is going to lose by default. All we know is that by the end of this preview, his plate remains clean.

After watching this, you have to think James has the advantage … but who knows? We’ve certainly seen many people before on “MasterChef” come from behind.

Regardless, we’re still hoping that there will be a way for some of these eliminated cooks to have another kick at the can, but we’ll have to wait and see on that this season. We will be back tomorrow night with more on this episode, and in the process, maybe we’ll get a shot to get to know these cooks a little bit better as people.
