When does ‘Madam Secretary’ season 3 begin filming?

Madam Secretary -

While there is no “Madam Secretary” on TV until September / early October, we are sure many out there are at least curious to get a little more information regarding this season and when some news could be announced.

There may not be a precise date out there for the start of filming, but we do now have a general answer courtesy of star Tea Leoni: Mid-July. This is not really much of a surprise, given that the vast majority of network shows start filming around this time. There are some with more of a post-production commitment that start earlier, while there are others such as “The Big Bang Theory” that often do not start until late July / early August with the full cast present. Often it depends on the sort of show, and the amount of location work that is done. These are the sorts of things that can add more hours to the day.

What we know is that when season 3 does pick up, you’re going to see Elizabeth McCord a.k.a. Bess have to figure out whether or not she wants to be Vice-President after receiving the offer. It’s a key decision, and one we plan on breaking down more in the weeks ahead.

As we’ve mentioned in the past, we’re going to continue to try to post a “Madam Secretary” story every week to keep the #MadamSecretarySunday tradition going until the season 3 premiere. We’re planning more coverage of the show than ever before starting this fall, and that’s something for you to hopefully look forward to.
