‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 7 spoilers: Sasha Alexander teases Maura’s future

The seventh season of “Rizzoli & Isles” is going to be coming to a close this summer, and come Monday night on TNT, the story is going to begin with a two-hour premiere. The Alice Sands storyline is going to be skyrocketed to another level, and there will be some devastating character drama that makes itself clear in a relatively short period of time.

So what about the season as a whole? In teasing the storyline for her Maura and Angie Harmon’s Jane in an interview with the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Sasha Alexander had the following message to pass along:

“I do think they’ve grown up. They are thinking about their futures. They’ve been through a lot. Jane has been through a lot of dangerous situations. I don’t know what that has done to her and her family… Both women have been unlucky in love. That hasn’t been on the forefront. Both are independent working women. Something is going to happen to Maura healthwise. She will have to evaluate her future… I hope that at the end, we’ll know these people will remain tight no matter what direction they go in.”

By the time we make it to the end of season 7, our hope is that both Jane and Maura have something that feels like closure, but also an open door for the future whether it be in their careers or in their personal lives. This is a show that has faced some tragedy, but at the same time we like to think of it as being hopeful in tone and with the promise of a better future.
