‘The Americans’ season 4 bracing to beef up finale

The fourth season of “The Americans” will be ending on FX next week, and when it does, you better be prepared for things to last a little bit longer than usual (not that we imagine anyone out there is going to be opposed to that).

According to a report from TVLine, the upcoming episode is going to run in total for one hour and 14 minutes, which should give the producers a little bit more of an opportunity to put a pin in some of the major events of the season. Isn’t that an exciting proposition to anyone else? It definitely is to us, and we imagine that there are going to be a few surprises here and there that the producers have in store for us before the end.

One other thing that we’re personally excited about, even if it does not have to do a whole lot with the story of the show as a whole, is the notion that there are two more seasons still to come on FX beyond this one. Basically, this is going to give you a chance to be relieved while watching the finale … and it also serves as another phenomenal reminder of how much faith precisely the network has in this show. We’d personally advise you to think long and hard about “The Americans” anytime you start to wonder about a potential series out there may or may not be getting the love you feel like it deserves.

We will have some other news on “The Americans” soon, including a further piece as we do our best to look ahead to season 5. Stay tuned…
