‘Person of Interest’ season 5, episode 9 reaction: Root and Shaw’s game of chicken

As we start to get closer to the end of “Person of Interest” after five seasons and almost a hundred episodes on the air, wouldn’t you agree that the time for answers is pretty much here? We definitely hope so.

For the sake of tonight’s episode, there’s really two events that we want to focus on, given that we find them the most interesting and the most emotional.

1. Shaw is home – Also, Root brought her back! Despite the suspicion and all of the other drama, these two are once more seemingly on the same page. Watching their scenes together was rather unsurprisingly emotional, especially when you consider their journey. It was even more so when the two were almost playing chicken / Russian roulette / whatever you want to call it near the end of the episode. Yet, Shaw is back where she should be, and (almost) everything is right with the world. After all, we do still have a little bit of a ways to go this season.

2. Fusco finally has an in – Nice move by John tonight; also, hasn’t it really taken long enough for the show to give Fusco some of the claims that he deserves? The guy is a tremendous character, so any change we have to celebrate him is one that’s definitely worth taking.

Ultimately, there was also a very twisty case at the center of the story tonight that while we may not remember completely months down the road, was engaging and worth the price of admission on this Memorial Day.
