Teen Choice Awards 2016: Will ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ ‘Gotham,’ or ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ win Drama Series prize?
The Teen Choice Awards are one of the more confusing awards-shows out there, and there are a wide array of different reasons why that is. They have around a billion categories, and even in some of them it’s a little bit odd how teens managed to vote to get them there.
Yet, our main focus in this article series (which we’re going to be doing daily throughout the month of June) is look at all of the individual categories, and then also determine along with that who will win and also who should win. Today, we’re starting things off with Choice TV Show: Drama, which is quite a mouthful to say out loud.
At the bottom of the article, there’ll be a poll to share your pick, so vote however many times you like. We’ll announce the reader picks for at least this first wave of nominees come June 15.
The nominees
Empire (Fox)
Gotham (Fox)
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)
Pretty Little Liars (Freeform)
Rosewood (Fox)
Shades of Blue (NBC)
Who will win – Out of this group, the first thing that we have to call shenanigans on here is “Rosewood” randomly being nominated in the first place. (Then again, the awards are on Fox; synergy!) With the group that was announced here we have to go with “Pretty Little Liars,” mostly because it’s the only show on the list that actually is for teens. It’ll get the vast majority of the votes as a result.
Who should win – Our heart tells us “Gotham,” but that is mostly because of our personal love for the show, which had a pretty darn incredible second season on the air. However, at the same exact time “Gotham” really should be under sci-fi / fantasy at this point, so we’ll go ahead and hand it over to “Pretty Little Liars,” as well.
