‘Murder in the First’ season 3 spoilers: First look at premiere episode!

For those of you who’ve been interested in getting some more news when it comes to the third season of “Murder in the First,” look no further! The show returns to TNT on Sunday, June 19 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, and what we have below is the synopsis, via SpoilerTV, for “Normandy B—h,” the first episode. (What’s with the title? Is Jesse Pinkman making a guest-starring appearance in the episode or something?)

Based on what we’ve got here, the show’s wasting almost no time wrestling with tragedy both professionally and personally for our two main characters:

“Season three kicks off for Homicide Inspectors Terry English and Hildy Mulligan when an all-star quarterback is murdered in the middle of a crowded club in front of his pop star girlfriend. D.A. Mario Siletti and his wife are involved in a tragic car accident that could end his career and his marriage. And an untimely diagnosis threatens Hildy’s future.”

For this show, we feel like the primary challenge is to continue to go deeper and darker than the majority of other crime shows that are out there. Because this is cable, and because it is airing at 10:00 p.m., there are opportunities here to touch on things that some other networks would be fearful of. Therefore, we hope the writers continue to be bold, and give us some storylines that can be talked about for some time to come.
