‘Britain’s Got Talent’ review: Zyrah Rose, Mel and Jamie, Christian Lee shine in final audition show
Tonight’s new episode of “Britain’s Got Talent” is the last of the audition rounds, and it’s also the last until the show embarks on its epic, week-long airing of multiple live shows before the final next weekend. It’s going to be an extremely busy next week or so when it comes to this show, so we shall see who rises to the occasion!
As always with these audition shows, we’re going to have some further updates as the show progresses…
Johnny Boonham – This was complete nonsense, but at the same time it’s pure “BGT” nonsense. It’s the sort of act who has no real future, but is such camp fun for now.
Dunking Devils – Yes, Ant making that basket slightly stole the show, but these guys are very good at what they do (dunking basketballs). We just will have to see if there’s much more that can be done.
Bollywest Fusion – We complain rather relentlessly about dance groups since so many of them all feel the same, but we’re willing to give a slight exception to this group because they’re Bollywood, and there is at least something slightly different about them from the rest.
Zyrah Rose – The vocals for these four ladies were fairly fantastic, but we do see where Simon Cowell is coming from when it comes to their interaction (or lack thereof). They need to step it up, but there is some potential here if they have a little more of a presence on stage. They’re certainly more talented than anyone we’ve seen tonight so far.
Total TXS – Talented dancers, but at the same time is there anything here that we didn’t see last year with Boyband? We’re not sure.
Charlie Placais – Charlie was more or less a shirtless mime / acrobat doing unique things over a tub. We don’t know how to describe it, but he was quite good.
Danny Beard – A fantastic singer with a great personality and a love for “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Really, there’s almost nothing to hate here!
Christian Lee – We actually don’t think the trick here was spectacular, but above all else he was funny! Sometimes, being entertaining is better than being the best magician we’ve ever seen, since you have to captivate the crowd.
Mel and Jamie – It was a little bit of an odd pairing for a singing act, but they actually had some nice harmonies. They closed off the audition portion of the night, which set the stage for some other results coming up later in the night. (More soon.)
